The Residence Alla Giudecca on the island of Ortigia, Siracusa’s medieval centre, is one of the most unique accommodations in all of Italy. Occupying a medieval building in the heart of the old town, where the streets are too narrow for cars and the sandy coloured crumbling buildings transport you back in time, this collection of 23 fully self sufficient apartments contains the ruins of ancient Hebrew baths, used for the ritual of purification in the Byzantine period (circa 300AD) and a deconsecrated church.
